Protea (pincushion) looks like an Aussie Native but is a South African native. I like the bold graphic balls of colour.
I think the bush above and below are both Banksia Bushes, which also have nice strong flowers. They remind me of reading Snuggle pot & cuddle pie as a little girl and how terrified I was of the 'banskia men'.
I LOVE waratahs but think that they aren't suited to the Victorian climate sadly.
Think this might be another type of Protea? Great silver foliage.
This 'Watatah Protea' might be a nice stand-in for the real deal.
