Two weeks completed living onto of each other in the middle of Winter with no running water, shower, washing machine, an outdoor portaloo, one oil heater and an outdoor BBQ. Where is my medal?!
To add to the challenge, the boys have had a stomach flu. The evening vomit in the sink over dishes was a low point knowing that many kettles would need to be boiled to deal with the aftermath. Hopefully the disinfectant hand-cleanser and sprays etc have kept the bugs contained because if I get sick I'm not sure how we will cope!

Despite all this and the fact we wear woollen jumpers to bed (one freezing night I also wore a jacket!) we are still happy during this honeymoon phase of our new set up. I feel tough and excited. We are making it work. Life is simple and we are spending much more time outdoors. Luckily the North-facing van keeps pretty cosy during the day.
The other night over a few wines Rich and I tossed a rope over our lovely big Spotted Gum. The boys now LOVE their Super Swing. It has a huge sweep and their faces glow with the thrill of rushing through the air together.
It's so much fun having lots of space and trees and some Winter sun to play in. I LOVE having a relaxing stroll to school everyday and to all the vibrant shops nearby. We are excited about getting some baby chickens, (a batch of my chosen breed hatch next Tuesday and hopefully there will be enough girls for us to have some). The house plans are moving very slowly but there is a good chance thing will move faster soon, fingers crossed. Meanwhile we are happy in our swanky shanty hippy hipster set-up!
Goodness, you do deserve a medal! Sorry to hear the boys have been sick, that sounds very stressful. looks like you are having lots of positive experiences though, wonderful! Have fun with the chickens, that is high on my list for when we move eventually. So nice to have fresh eggs everyday. xx
